A Pair of Detentions Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
