I'll dominate 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making huge earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers participated in the traditional face-off, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
