Exactly four and a half months following the previous coach's first press conference as the club's manager, successor the German coach faced the media at Ibrox for the initial occasion.

The magnitude of the challenge ahead of him is well known, considering Martin's chaotic and disappointing four-month spell.

The former Sheffield Wednesday boss was joined by chairman Andrew Cavenagh, along with the much-criticized pair of football director Kevin Thelwell and chief executive Patrick Stewart.

However, what exactly was revealed from the 36-year-old German's maiden media outing as Rangers boss?

The Manager's Main Priority - Victory is Everything

One thing emerged clearly from Rohl's initial presentation before the Scottish media - he understands the necessity to secure victories, and achieve this quickly.

His predecessor Martin lasted only 17 matches and 123 days in charge, so the inquiry emerged about how long the new man thinks is reasonable to turn around the struggling squad.

While skillfully sidestepping a specific response that might create later expectations, Rohl's message was very evident.

"Hopefully very quickly," he said. "That is essential.
"In football you have limited time. You can discuss future plans but we know it's about immediate results and the short-term involves securing victories. This is my requirement.
"One thing remains clear - I need every squad member to understand how we want to perform. I come back to my main theme: victory comes first, entertaining football and it's together. If you follow this sequence, I'm convinced that I'll stay for years here."

Pressure is Normal

Martin required a police escort to exit the Falkirk Stadium after his final match as manager.

We've seen how toxic environments can become at football clubs when performances are poor. Demonstrations have nearly become a regular aspect of the matchday atmosphere on both sides of Glasgow these days.

As Rangers' youngest manager in history, the inquiry was posed about what qualities the coach thinks he possesses that would allow him to handle, never mind thrive, in among the highest-pressure positions in UK soccer?

"In my opinion pressure in football are standard," he stated. "One needs to understand that rapidly.
"I believe some people could reference my youth but I'm 16 years in this career. I experienced a great chance to be at the German club and serve as just the assistant coach, but I felt the reality to manage a team and the pressure involved.
"You begin winning games and then certain people will say you need to play attractive soccer. That becomes the stage but that's exactly my intention. I relish that challenge and I look forward for the future."

The Sporting Director Defends Striker Acquisition & Hiring Family Member

The media pack had numerous inquiries from the media for Thelwell.

Significant attention has focused on the hiring of his son as head of recruitment, with fans skeptical about his credentials for the role.

However, he justified and clarified the choice to bring Thelwell Jnr to the club.

"It remains awkward to listen and in appearance I think everyone understood when we made this decision to appoint him that he would be viewed negatively," Thelwell said.
"The truth of circumstances is that we want to attract the very best talent to this club.
"My perspective on his professional path and situation is he didn't need my assistance in football.
"He served at Aston Villa as a senior scout, he then joined Norwich City as scouting chief and then got promoted to development role.
"Prior to our hiring him, two Premier League teams wanted to sign him. Our approach right at the start of proceedings was discuss with the CEO, the chairman and deputy chairman Paraag Marathe about this situation.
"I was highly open and I believe he likely underwent a more rigorous process than anybody else employee by the team.
"What I do know is that he will work 25/8 to achieve success for Rangers and I'm looking forward seeing him proving that he's going to be an excellent employee for the club."

Additionally, Thelwell defended the acquisition of forward Chermiti, who joined the club for a reported first payment of eight million pounds, after failing to score in 24 appearances for his previous club.

It was Thelwell who transferred the Portuguese young international to Merseyside from Sporting Lisbon - again for large funds in a fifteen million pound transfer.

The question came if he stands by his expensive purchase, who is yet to register in seven outings for Rangers.

"Yes, very much so," Thelwell answered. "I think the striker is a player who's got huge potential.
"I haven't doubted him whatsoever. Similarly, I think Danny will help to get the best out of the player.
"It's very early days for him, he remains young talent and of course with inexperienced players they occasionally require patience.
"However, I'm convinced throughout of his career at the club he'll demonstrate that he is highly capable player."

Stewart Understands Supporters' Frustration and Anger

The chief executive was facing firing line, considering the vitriol that has been aimed his way by some club fans.

There was even a banner in the stadium during the recent tie with United inviting him - and Thelwell - to pack his bags before they were packed for them.

Similar to the football director, Stewart didn't avoid the issue.

"I totally appreciate the disappointment and hurt that fans are experiencing because results recently haven't met good enough and nobody's happy with those," he stated.
"The pain and frustration they feel is matched inside the boardroom.
"Recognize that there must exist a channel for those frustrations and in my role, I'm responsible.
"I serve as focal point for such issues and my role as a
